Ciudad Quesada

Ciudad Quesada is located approximately 8 kilometres inland from the Costa Blanca at Guardamar de la Segura.

The town centre of Ciudad Quesada is well provided with shops, bars, restaurants, a golf course and its own water park.

Castalla enjoys a typical Mediterranean climate; as is it is surrounded by mountain ranges, it can sometimes get very hot in summer, but it is protected against the cold North winds in winter. The area averages nearly 3,000 hours of sunshine each year and the average temperature easily exceeds 20 degrees.

In 1986 the World Health Organisation recommended the climate of the area as one of the most equitable in the world - neither too hot in the summer nor too cold in the winter. On average it can boast 325 sunny days each year making it an ideal all year round destination.

The local cuisine in Ciudad Quesada is typically that of the Costa Blanca, which combines delicacies from both land and the Mediterranean Sea. Many civilizations have lived in this area (Celts, Iberians, Greeks, Romans, Muslims), all of which have all left their mark on the gastronomy.

How to get there ?

Alicante and Murcia airports are both 50 kilometres away. Alicante–Elche is one of the main airports in south-eastern Spain, serving both the southern part of the Valencian Community and the Region of Murcia. Norwegian, SAS, Iberia, Swiss International Airlines, KLM, Lufthansa, British Airways are some of the airline companies flying to and from Alicante. From Allicante Airport it is only 40 minutes by car to reach Quesada.

There is a public tennis court , basketball court and a Tufte Park just 200m from the villa and 20 min walking from the apartment. The tennis court is free to use for everyone living in Quesada.

There are many championship golf courses close to the villa and apartment; Villamartín, Las Ramblas, Campoamar and La Marquesa are the closest. There are many more within an hour’s drive.

Beaches

Biking

The many Blue flag beaches of Torrevieja, Guadamar del Segura, and Santa Pola are all within 15 minutes drive or 30 minutes biking. La Mata Beach, Locos Beach and Playa de la Mata are only 30 min away biking or 10 min by car.

There are plenty of bike paths and tracks throughout the Quesada area. There are also bike paths going all the way down to the beaches of Torrevieja. To bike through the Pink Laguna during sunrise or sunset is just spectacular.

The local cuisine

The diet in Ciudad Quesada is a typically, healthy Mediterranean one; rich in fish, vegetables, olive-oil, rice and fruit and the ingredients which are all used to prepare delicious, healthy dishes, such as Paella Valenciana, Arroz Negro (black rice), Arroz al horno (Oven baked rice), Arroz a banda (fish and rice stew), Arroz del Señoret (Princes rice).

Torrevieja

For a day or evening out, Torrevieja is close by. One of the greatest tourist attractions of Torrevieja has always been its variety of entertainment for families and young people.

There are more than a hundred night bars, the majority concentrated in the so-called El Baluarte area in the La Punta district, which have become a major attraction for thousands of people from all over the world.

Take the ferry to Tabarca - daytrip

Tabarca is the only inhabited island in the Valencian Community and is located opposite the city of Alicante. Its coasts were home to a refuge for Barbary pirates in the past, but today you can enjoy a nice trip with the ferry from Alicante, an easy walk around the island and a swim in crystal clear water.

There are many places to have fun in Quesada . Mini golf courses, Go-karting facilities and a Aquapark are nearby. We recommend the minigolf course of Greenland Golf Club. Ciudad Quesada go-karting offers excitements for both children and experienced drivers. Quesada Aquapark is also a great place to visit for you and the whole family.

Visit a vineyard

Its amazing mix of climates, regions and grape varieties means that Alicante is able to produce an incredibly varied range of wines. The district offers; White, Reds, Rosés, Sweet Wines, Fortified wines and sparkling wines.

While in Ciudad Quesada you you should try the local Fondillón De Alicante which is unique in all senses of the term, but you will certainly notice something very special when you try it. Want to visit a wineyard, try CASA BOQUERA about 90km fra Quesada.

Hiking

There are lot of hiking options nearby; such as Confrides, inland from the Altea and Benidorm where you can be assured of fairly easy walking. You should also check out Guadalest, and the mountains around Murcia.
